1. Who We Are

Vexo Player is developed and published by CODINITY SARL . This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Vexo Player application ("the App") and how we use it.

2. Information We Collect

To activate the App, validate your license, and improve the service, we collect a limited set of technical information about your device:

• Device identifier: a stable, platform-provided device ID (e.g., Android ID, iOS identifierForVendor, Tizen ID, Windows hardware ID, macOS system GUID, Linux machine ID) used solely for activation and license validation.
• Device information: brand, manufacturer, model, hardware/product name, screen resolution, and CPU architecture.
• Operating system information: OS name and version (e.g., Android 14, iOS 17, Tizen 7.0, Windows 11).
• App information: Vexo Player version, build number, and distribution flavor.
• Approximate country: derived from your IP address at the time of activation, used for regional service planning. We do not store precise location data.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, or any content you play through the App, unless you contact us directly for support.

The following are stored only on your device and are never sent to our servers: playlist URLs, server credentials (encrypted with AES-256-GCM), favorites, viewing history, watch progress, and app preferences.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process and validate device activations and subscriptions
• Detect fraudulent activations and protect against abuse
• Understand which devices, platforms, and regions use the App so we can prioritize compatibility and improvements
• Diagnose crashes and technical issues
• Provide customer support when you contact us
• Send important service notifications related to your account

4. Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of third-party services to operate and improve the App. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage statistics (events, sessions, device class, country) used to understand how the App is used and to prioritize improvements.
• Google Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash reports and stack traces used to diagnose and fix bugs.

These services are provided by Google. Their data handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase Privacy Information.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks. The App contains no advertising SDKs.

Separately, the App connects to third-party media servers and playlist providers that you configure. Those services are not operated by us, are entirely outside our control, and have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them before providing them with any data.

5. Data Storage and Retention

All user-generated data — playlists, credentials, viewing history, favorites, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate any servers that store your personal media data.

Device activation records (device ID, device info, activation date) are retained on our servers for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion or upon your verified request, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including AES-256-GCM encryption for credentials stored on your device and TLS for all network communication with our servers. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Audience and Family Use

Vexo Player is a general-purpose media playback tool, comparable to a web browser or file manager. The App does not host, curate, recommend, or control any media content. All content is supplied by the user through playlists and servers they configure themselves.

Because the App can play any content the user provides — which may not be suitable for all ages — we recommend parental supervision for minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to any personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your personal data
• Withdraw consent and stop using the App at any time
• Delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the App

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
